When sampling this particular wedge sole, we found the treading and balance looked great, and the shoe had a nice feel. The silhouette is more casual, and the wedge matched with the gutsy leather upper creates a rugged shoe that can go anywhere.

The Badalassi Carlo Tannery's Minerva leather is one of our favorites. This boutique Italian tannery specializes in vegetable tanning. During the process, the leather is placed in a 'Bottali,' a large barrel that rotates, allowing the organic tanning substances to stay in contact with the article. A complete cycle may take 30 - 35 days. The result is an incredibly rich leather with transparency and depth.

The leather can have prominent vamp breaks and a variation of colors. Since this is a light-colored vegetable-tanned article, areas on the boot may have darker hues.
